Repressed aggression tests. 1938?

These data are part of Explorations in Personality, a two and a half year study that was conducted in the 1930s by Henry Murray and a group of experimenters at the Harvard Psychological Clinic. The general purpose of the study was to construct a theory of personality that integrated existing theories and to devise techniques to identify important personality attributes. The ultimate goal was to determine the relationship between early experiences and personality. The Murray Center has acquired the data files of two groups of men. The first group consists of 20 students in the Harvard classes of 1932, 1933, and 1934. The second group is composed of 13 participants. It cannot be inferred from the information available whether or not the second group of participants were Harvard College students. Data consist of a series of closed-ended measures (such as forced choice scales), intelligence and aptitude tests, projective tests, and an interview about childhood memories. The Murray Center also has files with statistical analyses of the different measures and rank orders for each subject on the various personality variables.
